Serre finiteness and Serre vanishing for non-commutative P1-bundles

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2004
Suppose $X$ is a smooth projective scheme of finite type over a field $K$, $\mathcal{E}$ is a locally free ${\mathcal{O}}_{X}$-bimodule of rank 2, $\mathcal{A}$ is the non-commutative symmetric algebra generated by $\mathcal{E}$ and ${\sf Proj}\A$ is the corresponding non-commutative $\mathbb{P}^{1}$-bundle.

Animal Teachers: Nonhuman Pedagogy and the Question of Deceit

open access: yesEducational Theory, EarlyView.
Abstract Animals as “teachers” of human children and adults is a recurring theme in children's literature, in anthropological accounts of “feral children,” as well as in contemporary practices of animal‐assisted pedagogy, philosophical research, wildlife documentaries, and popular culture.

Trans‐resveratrol alleviates inflammation and improves skin barrier function via aryl hydrocarbon receptor pathway in human reconstructed epidermis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
In a cytokine‐challenged human epidermal model, trans‐resveratrol reduces inflammation (IL‐1α) and oxidative stress markers (CYP1A1, CYP1B1), while modulating the expression of barrier‐related genes (LOR, OCLN) and differentiation‐associated CASP14. This supports its role as a multifunctional active for sensitive and compromised skin.

From occasional records to regular presence: Increasing occurrence of the bastard grunt Pomadasys incisus in the French Ligurian Sea (northwestern Mediterranean)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract The bastard grunt Pomadasys incisus (Bowdich, 1825), an Atlantic teleost, has recently been recorded at multiple sites along the French Ligurian Sea. Three juveniles were captured in Villepey Lagoon, while several groups of sub‐adult and adult individuals were observed at Cagnes‐sur‐Mer and Monaco between 2020 and 2024.

A cytochrome P450 gene, GmSUR2a, confers submergence tolerance and improves yield in soybean by modulating auxin homeostasis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The key cytochrome P450 gene GmSUR2a enables soybeans to withstand destructive submergence stress. By lowering the level of the plant hormone indole‐3‐acetic acid, this gene improves soybean survival and increases field yield. It offers an important tool for breeding stress‑resilient soybeans, securing food production against extreme weather conditions.

The Diremption of Meaning

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract Examining work by Rowan Williams, this essay explores what he often refers to as the ‘difficulty’ of writing theology. The difficulty of theology lies in engaging the ruse of having ultimate answers to ultimate questions. The stakes are high: ‘God‐talk’ must concern itself with truth, with reality.

A trait‐based integration of competition and abiotic tolerance underlies plant success

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Competitive effect and abiotic tolerance show positive associations with species' niche breadth and local dominance. Summary Understanding what determines species' ecological success is a central challenge in ecology. Competitive ability and abiotic tolerance are expected to be strong predictors of species success, yet theory predicts a trade‐off ...
