Novel method for generating multiple wavelengths by pulsed serrodyne modulation
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2003We propose a new scheme based on pulsed serrodyne modulation in an optical ring circuit designed to increase the number of wavelengths of optical pulses from a pulse-type multiwavelength light source. As the optical pulses circulate around the ring, the shift in the pulse wavelength increases as a result of the pulsed serrodyne modulation in the ring ...

Optical phase-locking of two extended-cavity diode lasers by serrodyne modulation
Applied Optics, 2019We report the optical phase-locking of two extended-cavity diode lasers with a frequency difference of 6.9 GHz by serrodyne modulation. The bandwidth of the phase-locking loop is extended up to 9.5 MHz. The residual phase noise of the two phase-locked lasers reaches -130 dBrad2/Hz in the offset frequency range of 1.5 kHz to 9 kHz and below -120 ...

A closed-loop RFOG based on digital serrodyne and sine modulations with two LiNbO3 phase modulators
Optics Communications, 2019Abstract Based on the digital bipolar serrodyne and sine phase modulations, a closed-loop RFOG with two LiNbO3 phase modulators is proposed and studied. Through theoretical simulation, the bipolar serrodyne waveform is optimized to improve the detection sensitivity.

Direct frequency comb spectroscopy using serrodyne modulation
Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2023 (FiO, LS), 2023We demonstrate a novel heterodyne comb spectroscopy scheme where the typical acousto-optic modulator is replaced by a phase modulator driven with a serrodyne signal, enabling improved differential phase noise improvements and facilitating photonic chip integration.
