Serum Ferritin

CRC Critical Reviews in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, 1979
(1) Brief introduction to iron metabolism and the biochemistry of ferritin. (2) Early studies of circulating ferritin. (3) Methods for measuring serum ferritin concentrations -- immunoradiometric, radioimmuno- and enzyme-linked immuno assays based on liver or spleen ferritin -- an evaluation of these techniques.

Serum‐serum interactions in autoimmune mice

Arthritis & Rheumatism, 1979
AbstractSera from a majority of old, sick mice of the MRL/I strain interact with other MRL/I sera to form visible immunoprecipitates and fix complement. The mouse sera can be divided into two sets such that interset interactions are far more common than intraset ones.

Radioimmunoassay of haloperidol in human serum: Correlation of serum haloperidol with serum prolactin

Life Sciences, 1981
Abstract A radioimmunoassay (RIA) for measurement of serum haloperidol is described. Compared to gaschromatography (GC), RIA values average 40% higher. However, a simple organic extraction of serum yields statistically equivalent RIA and GC haloperidol determinations.

Antilymphocyte Serum or Antithymus Serum

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1970
The renewal and burst of interest in various aspects of heterologous antilymphocyte serum during the last several years appear to have resulted from the study of Waksman and his co-workers. 1 They demonstrated that rabbit antiguinea pig lymph node serum suppressed the delayed skin reactions to dinitrochlorobenzene, diphtheria toxoid, and old tuberculin

Serum Sickness

New England Journal of Medicine, 1985
Serum sickness can be induced experimentally in the rabbit by injecting a foreign protein. The pathophysiology has been well described. A similar illness is seen in man after injection of heterologous serum, and well as many other drugs. Included is a discussion of immunopathologic studies of human serum sickness and serum sickness-like diseases ...
