Isolated elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase

The Journal of Pediatrics, 1984

Serum Alkaline Phosphatase in Pregnant Mares

Veterinary Clinical Pathology, 1980
SummarySerum alkaline phosphatase was measured in ten mares during various stages of gestation. No significant change in serum alkaline phosphatase activity was detected during pregnancy. These data suggest that interpretation of serum alkaline phosphatase in horses can be made independently of their pregnancy status.

Serum alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes in childhood

European Journal of Pediatrics, 1977
Using a combination of L-phenylalanine inhibition and heat inactivation, the serum alkaline phosphatase (AP) in 2 to 13 year old children without evidence of hepatobiliary, osseous, or intestinal disease was separated in three fractions; i.e. L-phenylalanine sensitive AP (LPSAP), heat-stable non-L-phenylalanine sensitive AP (heat-stable non-LPSAP) and

Serum Alkaline Phosphatase Determination

JAMA, 1979
A retrospective study of 146 patients with metastatic disease was undertaken to verify the clinical impression that radionuclide scanning rarely, if ever, discloses hepatic metastases in breast cancer patients with normal serum alkaline phosphatase (AP) levels. Only two of 39 patients with abnormal liver scans had normal AP levels, and we conclude that

Serum alkaline phosphatase activity in cattle

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1971
Abstract Some biochemical properties of isoenzymes of alkaline phosphatase were examined in extracts of bovine tissues. The value of isoenzyme analysis of alkaline phosphatase activity in bovine serum as a diagnostic aid was studied. Three techniques were compared for routine determination of alkaline phosphatase activity in bovine serum.

Serum Alkaline Phosphatase in Pregnancy

Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 1975
Abstract. 312 paired, serial estimations of total, L‐phenylalanine‐sensitive and heat‐stable alkaline phos‐phatase (at two temperatures, 56°C and 65°C) were performed on sera from 31 pregnant healthy women from 18 weeks to term. Heat‐stable alkaline phosphatase, determined at 65°C, enriched the serum in a smooth exponential course throughout the ...

SERUM ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE ACTIVITY IN SHEEP

Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1974
SummaryThe influence of age and the R‐r‐i blood group system upon serum alkaline phosphatase activity is described.Changes in isoenzyme patterns of alkaline phosphatase activity, as determined by use of amino acid inhibitors and heat, were seen from birth to day 1 of life, with increasing age and between animals of the R and r blood group.

Measurement of serum alkaline phosphatase

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 1979
Abstract Alkaline phosphatase is a commonly requested enzyme test in clinical chemistry. However, the enzyme is not particularly substrate specific, which has led to a proliferation of methods for its analysis. It can exhibit a variable instability effect depending on the techniques required for its storage or analysis.
