A survey of patterns for Service-Oriented Architectures [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Internet Protocol Technology, 2006
Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) are a promising means to integrate heterogeneous systems, but virtually no technology-neutral approach to holistically understand SOAs exists. We tackle this problem by introducing a survey of technology-independent patterns that are relevant for SOAs, and are working towards a formalised pattern-based reference ...

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Self‐Poled Halide Perovskite Ruddlesden‐Popper Ferroelectric‐Photovoltaic Semiconductor Thin Films and Their Energy Harvesting Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐dimensional halide perovskite thin films, (BA)2(MA)n‐1PbnBr3n+1 (n = 1, 2), exhibit both semiconducting and ferroelectric properties, enabling mechanical and light energy harvesting. Using Cr/Cr₂O₃ or PCBM as barrier layers ensures reproducible ferroelectricity.

Securing Code in Services Oriented Architecture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
SOA proposed security mechanisms are only centered in the data transmitted between service provider and consumer. However, it's well known that the biggest threats to the integrity of the information are precisely focused not on the data directly but on the code that manages it. Our main statement is that it will only be possible to reach an acceptable
