Post - Crisis Resilience and Trends in the International Service Exchanges by Romania [PDF]

open access: yesRisk in Contemporary Economy, 2016
International transactions that occur with non-tangible goods (also-called invisible trade) represent more than a third of the world trade, recording a higher dynamics than that of the trade with tangible goods, whose rhythm goes over the dynamics of ...

Self‐Powered Bearing Sensing and Real‐Time Fault Diagnosis Enabled by Non‐Invasive Triboelectric Sensors and Edge AI Acceleration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves the synergistic integration of self‐powered sensing and edge AI acceleration to establish a real‐time fault diagnosis system. The proposed TENG‐based self‐powered bearing sensor (NSE‐TBS) and FPGA‐accelerated edge AI framework fundamentally break through the inherent limitations of conventional monitoring systems, including complex ...

Selective Interfacial Barriers Drive High‐Performance GeTe Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carrier‐phonon decoupling is the key to developing high‐performance thermoelectric materials. Here, we demonstrate that selective interfacial barriers can decouple carrier and phonon transport, thus achieving an exceptional peak ZT of ∼2.7 at 773 K, along with a record‐high average ZT of 1.9 across 300–773 K in the (Ge0.82Mn0.04Bi0.04Pb0.1Te)0.99(VSe2 ...

Bionic Solar‐Powered Heavy Metal Trap for Eco‐Friendly Sludge Drying and Simultaneous Electricity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, we propose a solar‐powered heavy metal trap (SPHT) for sludge disposal. The indoor experiments demonstrated that the sludge water content decreased from 90 % to 31 %, coupled with a decrease in heavy metal content to 6 % at most. Furthermore, the designed SPHT generated an initial potential of 0.10 V, and monitoring this hydrovoltaic potential ...

The Preferential Liberalization of Trade in Services: African Perspectives And Challenges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This chapter takes stock of the state of play of preferential trade negotiations in services in Africa. It explores the factors that lie behind the reluctance of African governments to bind service sector policy under international treaties.
