Planteose Synthesis in Seeds of Sesamum indicum L.
Zeitschrift für Pflanzenphysiologie, 1984Summary An enzyme, UDP-galactose : sucrose 6 fru -α-galactosyltransferase, which synthesizes planteose (6 fru -α-galactosylsucrose), has been purified 55-fold from seeds of Sesamum indicum L. (Pedaliaceae) using ammonium sulfate and protamine sulfate precipitation.

Somatic embryogenesis in Sesamum indicum L. cv. nigrum
Journal of Plant Physiology, 1997Summary Cotyledon, root and subapical hypocotyl segments of 2–3 mm in length were excised from 6–21 day-old seedlings. Calluses were induced on Murashige and Skoog (1962) medium supplemented with 3 % sucrose, 0.8% agar and 2mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.
