Objects as session-typed processes [PDF]
A key idea in object-oriented programming is that objects encapsulate state and interact with each other by message exchange. This perspective suggests a model of computation that is inherently concurrent (to facilitate simultaneous message exchange) and that accounts for the effect of message exchange on an object's state (to express valid sequences ...

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Determining substitutability of cloud services supported by semantically extended type theory
In cloud environments, the high dynamics and more service failures were great obstacles to cloud applications, service substitution was a key research issue and also was a main solution to these challenges.

Session Types Go Dynamic or How to Verify Your Python Conversations [PDF]
This paper presents the first implementation of session types in a dynamically-typed language - Python. Communication safety of the whole system is guaranteed at runtime by monitors that check the execution traces comply with an associated protocol ...

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

A Semantic Deconstruction of Session Types [PDF]
We investigate the semantic foundations of session types, by revisiting them in the abstract setting of labelled transition systems. The crucial insight is a simulation relation which generalises the usual syntax-directed notions of typing and subtyping, and encompasses both synchronous and asynchronous binary session types.

Session Coalgebras: A Coalgebraic View on Session Types and Communication Protocols [PDF]
Compositional methods are central to the development and verification of software systems. They allow breaking down large systems into smaller components, while enabling reasoning about the behaviour of the composed system.

Multiparty Symmetric Sum Types [PDF]
This paper introduces a new theory of multiparty session types based on symmetric sum types, by which we can type non-deterministic orchestration choice behaviours.
