Continuous Selections for Set-Valued Mappings

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1994
It is proved that any almost lower semicontinuous multifunction (in the meaning of Deutsch and Kenderov) defined on a paracompact space and taking closed, convex, not necessarily bounded subsets of the real line as values, admits a continuous selector.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

On Almost Everywhere K-Additive Set-Valued Maps

open access: yesAnnales Mathematicae Silesianae
Let X be an Abelian group, Y be a commutative monoid, K ⊂Y be a submonoid and F : X → 2Y \ {∅} be a set-valued map. Under some additional assumptions on ideals ℐ1 in X and ℐ2 in X2, we prove that if F is ℐ2-almost everywhere K-additive, then there ...

On a fractional integro-differential inclusion

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2014
We study a Cauchy problem for a fractional integro-differential inclusion of order $\alpha \in (1,2]$ involving a nonconvex set-valued map. Arcwise connectedness of the solution set is provided.

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

Continuous selections of set of mild solutions of evolution inclusions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
We prove the existence of continuous selections of the set valued map $xio mathcal{S}(xi)$ where $mathcal{S}(xi)$ is the set of all mild solutions of the evolution inclusions of the form $$displaylines{ dot{x}(t) in A(t)x(t)+int_0^tK(t,s)F(s,x(s))ds cr x(

On a Bagley-Torvik fractional integro-differential inclusion [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2019
Existence of solutions for a Bagley-Torvik fractional integro-differential inclusion is investigated in the case when the values of the set-valued map are not convex.

Existence of fixed points on compact epilipschitz sets without invariance conditions

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2005
We provide a new result of existence of equilibria of a single-valued Lipschitz function f on a compact set K of ℝn which is locally the epigraph of a Lipschitz functions (such a set is called epilipschitz set).

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...
