The Unified Approach to Set-Membership and Selective Partial Update Adaptive Filtering Algorithms
In this paper we show how the classical and modern adaptive filter algorithms can be introduced in a unified way. The Max normalized least mean squares (MAX-NLMS), N-Max NLMS, the family of SPU-NLMS, SPU transform domain adaptive filter (SPU-TDAF), and ...

The geological conditions of the North China-type coalfields are complicated, and a large number of water-conducting channels are formed by the tectonic cutting of the coal seam base plate, whose detection and identification have always been the key ...

Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Machine Learning Subjective Opinions: An Application in Forensic Chemistry
Simulated data created in silico using a previously reported method were sampled by bootstrapping to generate data sets for training multiple copies of an ensemble learner (i.e., a machine learning (ML) method).

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
