Optimal input design for set-membership identification of Hammerstein models [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Control, 2003
In this paper the problem of optimal input design for the identification of Hammerstein models is considered under the assumption that the linear dynamic part of the model is a FIR and that lower and upper bounds are available for the additive measurement errors.

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

A unified framework for solving a general class of conditional and robust set-membership estimation problems

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we present a unified framework for solving a general class of problems arising in the context of set-membership estimation/identification theory.

An optimal quantum algorithm for the oracle identification problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In the oracle identification problem, we are given oracle access to an unknown N-bit string x promised to belong to a known set C of size M and our task is to identify x. We present a quantum algorithm for the problem that is optimal in its dependence on

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Learning-based predictive control for linear systems: a unitary approach

open access: yes, 2018
A comprehensive approach addressing identification and control for learningbased Model Predictive Control (MPC) for linear systems is presented. The design technique yields a data-driven MPC law, based on a dataset collected from the working plant.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Suitability of a new Bloom filter for numerical vectors with high dimensions.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
The notable increase in the size and dimensions of data have presented challenges for data storage and retrieval. The Bloom filter and its generations, due to efficient space overheads and constant query delays, have been broadly applied to querying ...

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.
