Cerebrospinal setariosis with Setaria marshalli and Setaria digitata infection in cattle.

open access: yesThe Journal of veterinary medical science, 2004
Setaria digitata and S. marshalli larvae were observed in the cerebrospinal cavity of 2 paralyzed cattle in Taiwan. The 2 affected cattle showed quadriplegia and lumbar paralysis, respectively. At necropsy, which was performed 7 days after the 7-month-old cattle became quadriplegic, three and nineteen S.

Evaluation of single versus multiple site of action preemergence herbicides for waterhemp and giant ragweed control in Wisconsin soybean

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract The use of preemergence (PRE) herbicides with soil residual activity is recognized as an effective strategy for early‐season weed management in Midwest US soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] production. The efficacy of soybean PRE herbicides with single and multiple sites of action (SOAs), including acetolactate synthase (ALS), photosystem II ...

Exploring the role of exogenous salicylic acid in cereals resilience to water deficit stress: Advances and challenges

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Salicylic acid (SA) is an elicitor of abiotic stress tolerance in plants, but a comparative analysis of its effects across cereals remains under‐explored. This review article assesses the literature on the biological functioning of exogenous SA application (foliar‐ or root‐applied) in water‐stressed cereals.

Systems analysis of leaf anatomy and transcriptome using unsupervised machine learning provides insight on photosynthesis development and evolution in non‐model grasses

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The C4 photosynthesis includes intriguing leaf anatomies. The current model supports the placement of C3‐C4 intermediates as a middle point in the evolutionary trajectory from C3 to C4 photosynthesis. The known determinants involved in the differentiation of divergent photosynthetic leaves arose from the comparative analysis between both ends,
