Evaluation of Blood Droplet Volumes on the Cobas Plasma Separation Card for HCV RNA Testing in Resource‐Limited Settings

open access: yesJournal of Viral Hepatitis, Volume 32, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Detection of viral RNA is essential for hepatitis C virus (HCV) diagnosis. Collection and preservation of plasma, the preferred specimen type, is challenging in some areas. The Cobas Plasma Separation Card (PSC) is an alternative specimen type with no cold chain requirements.

Reassessment of peripheral nerve stimulation thresholds for the Impulse model‐optimized asymmetric head gradient coil

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 3, Page 1326-1338, September 2025.
Abstract Purpose Peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) remains a physiologic limitation to boosting spatiotemporal resolution with more powerful gradients. We investigate discrepancies in previous measurements and model predictions from PNS experienced by volunteers scanned with the investigational “Impulse” gradient coil on the NexGen 7T scanner ...

Dried Blood Spots and Plasma Separation Cards can Broaden Access to Molecular Testing for HBV, HCV and HIV

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 35, Issue 5, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Approximately 3.5 million people acquired HBV, HCV, or HIV‐1 in 2022, and 340 million persons are infected with at least one of these three viruses, mostly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) are precise and sensitive tools for viral infection diagnosis, monitoring and sequencing.

Assessment of soil pH and lime requirement methods and recommended lime rates for six reference soils across US land grant institutions

open access: yesSoil Science Society of America Journal, Volume 89, Issue 5, September/October 2025.
Abstract Soil pH and liming recommendations that address the soils, crops, and liming materials have been developed and adopted by land grant universities since the early 20th century. We inventoried land grant institution soil pH and lime requirement (LR) measurement methods for 1980 and 2020 and examined differences in lime rate recommendations for ...
