Intelligent Micro/Nanorobots for Targeted Interventional Therapy: From Bench to Clinic
Zirui Zhang et al. reviewed the application and challenges of mobile nanomachines in interventional therapy. By converting exogenous energy, including chemical, magnetic, optical, and ultrasonic sources, into mechanical forces, micro/nanorobots (MNRs) enable precise actuation at unprecedented scales. Evolving far beyond traditional drug delivery, these

Asymptomatic Severe Aortic Stenosis
ABSTRACT Aortic stenosis (AS) is the most prevalent valvular heart disease in developed countries and most prevalent in the elderly. According to the current guidelines, intervention is recommended in symptomatic severe AS; however, in asymptomatic patients, aortic valve replacement (AVR) is considered when symptoms appear or ...

Neural Fields for Highly Accelerated 2D Cine Phase Contrast MRI
ABSTRACT 2D cine phase contrast (CPC) MRI provides quantitative information on blood velocity and flow within the human vasculature. However, data acquisition is time‐consuming, motivating the reconstruction of the velocity field from undersampled measurements to reduce scan times. In this work, neural fields are proposed as a continuous spatiotemporal

Severe Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis in a Pregnant Woman
ABSTRACT A 35-year-old pregnant female in her second trimester presented with heart failure manifestations with evidence of very severe fixed left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. The peak systolic gradient was 132 mmHg, which is the highest reported in the literature, secondary to congenital subaortic membrane.

Serial Molecular‐Microstructural Multimodal Intravascular Imaging of Atherosclerotic Plaques in Mice
A novel longitudinal molecular and microstructural intravascular imaging approach is developed to study murine atherosclerosis. The technique combines a unique surgical model with a miniaturized multimodal device to detect macrophage activity and lipid simultaneously.

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation for severe aortic stenosis [PDF]
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation reduces risk of death in patients for whom the risk of surgical aortic valve replacement is prohibitive[1][1] and has similar rates of survival in patients who are considered at high risk of complications or death from surgery.[2][2] Candidates should have ...

Stress Echocardiogram in Asymptomatic Severe Aortic Stenosis
ABSTRACT Aortic stenosis (AS) is one of the most common adult valve diseases. Therefore, current guidelines recommend prompt aortic valve intervention once symptoms occur. However, AS is predominantly a disease of the elderly, and these people may be underreporting their symptoms, have other comorbidities, or have a low level ...
