Early severe obesity in children [PDF]
In the US, there was an increase in the prevalence of severe obesity from 2000 to 2004 and a decrease from 2004 to 2014 in preschool-aged children. The severity of obesity in children is associated with increased cardiometabolic risks. Programmes to prevent early severe obesity should be able to end this disease.

American Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2012Previous efforts to forecast future trends in obesity applied linear forecasts assuming that the rise in obesity would continue unabated. However, evidence suggests that obesity prevalence may be leveling off.This study presents estimates of adult obesity and severe obesity prevalence through 2030 based on nonlinear regression models.
