A Severity of Illness Index for Evaluation Pre-Hospital Care of Submariners with Abdominal Pain [PDF]

Quality of Life Research, 1993
The quality of life in persons with severe and persistent mental illness is often poor. Most treatment programmes have the goal of increasing quality of life. Unfortunately, existing methods to assess quality of life are cumbersome and oriented towards research rather than clinical settings.

More Data on the Addiction Severity Index
The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 1992The Addiction Severity Index (ASI) is a semistructured interview that collects data from substance abusers in seven problem areas: medical, employment, legal, alcohol, other drug use, family-social functioning, and psychological status. In each area, the clients provide an estimate of the seriousness of the problem and their need for treatment.

The Severity of Illness Index as a severity adjustment to diagnosis-related groups.
Health care financing review, 1985This article discusses the Severity of Illness case-mix groups, and suggests a refinement to diagnosis-related groups (DRG's) designed to accommodate the important element of patient severity. An application of the suggested refinement is presented in a discussion of the efficient production of hospital services. The following areas are addressed.
