Enabling Decision Making with the Modified Causal Forest: Policy Trees for Treatment Assignment
Decision making plays a pivotal role in shaping outcomes across various disciplines, such as medicine, economics, and business. This paper provides practitioners with guidance on implementing a decision tree designed to optimise treatment assignment ...

Excitation of Surface Electromagnetic Waves at the Silver/NaCl Aqueous Solution Interface
The results of a study of the dynamics of the excitation angle of a surface electromagnetic wave (SEW) at the interface between a silver/NaCl aqueous solution of concentrations 10−3, 10−4, 10−6 and 10−10 M are presented.

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Droplet-Based Microfluidic Platform for High Spatiotemporal Resolved Single-Cell Signaling Profiling
A small indentation embedded in a microchannel creates a surface energy well (SEW) for a confined droplet due to surface energy release. Inspired by this, we developed a SEW-based microfluidic platform to realize high spatiotemporal-resolved signal ...

Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Surface Electromagnetic TE-Waves Total Internal Reflection
We have considered the refraction of surface electromagnetic waves (SEW) at the heterogeneous metasurface. The considered structure consists of three regions: mu-negative metamaterial, ordinary magnetic, and vacuum.
