Physical properties of sand from the waste water treatment plants

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2010
The work is focused on characterization of selected physical properties of sewage sand from the waste water treatment plants. Sand is transported into wastewater mainly in areas with a combined sewerage system – principally in connection with ...

Asymmetric Active Center Triggers Side‐On Photo‐Fenton‐Like Reaction Through Polar Charge Transfer and Self‐Adapting Sulfur Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Cu‐Zn3In2S6 photocatalyst (Cu‐ZISV) with asymmetric Cu‐SV‐Zn sites was designed and synthesized to boost peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation kinetics. The side‐on photo‐Fenton‐like reaction by the asymmetric Cu‐SV‐Zn site accelerated PMS activation and pollutant degradation, and the first‐order kinetic constant of Cu‐ZISV increased by 4.87 times ...

A WSN-based Monitoring System to Control Sewerage

open access: yesInternational Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security, 2019
The sewerage is a critical infrastructure in cities because of the drainage of the urban runoff and the evacuation of the wastewater. Two types of sewerage, separated sewerage and combined sewerage, can be differentiated.

DOTA‐grafted Cationic Polymers Behaving as Powerful Macromolecular Resistance‐reversal Agents (MRRAs) Combating Against New Delhi Metallo‐β‐lactamase (NDM)‐producing Bacteria

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two macromolecular resistance‐reversal agents (MRRAs)—linear (MRRAL) and nanostructured (MRRAN) polymers were fabricated by integrating DOTA motifs into tunable polycationic scaffolds. MRRAs exhibit superior antibacterial potency once combined with meropenem (MEM) through (i) bacterial membrane disruption via localized cationic charge and ...

Ultrafast Multilevel Switching and Synaptic Behavior in a Planar Quantum Topological Memristor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dry‐transferred Bi2Te3 layers enable a planar quantum topological memristor framework. In‐plane topological surface states facilitate ultrafast & low‐power operations. Coexisting analog and digital modes support current‐controlled multilevel states. PQTM exhibits 105 s retention, 103 cycles endurance, and reproducibility across 24 devices.
