Genetic and environmental effects on sexual precocity traits in Nellore cattle Efeitos genéticos e ambientais sobre características de precocidade sexual em bovinos Nelore

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2009
The objective of this study was to estimate the heritability of probability of early pregnancy (PEP) and scrotal circumference (SC) and the genetic correlation between these traits in Nellore cattle.

Evolutionary Conserved and Divergent Responses to Copper Zinc Superoxide Dismutase Inhibition in Plants

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT After an initial evolution in a reducing environment, life got successively challenged by reactive oxygen species (ROS), especially during the great oxidation event (GOE) that followed the development of photosynthesis. Therefore, ROS are deeply intertwined into the physiological, morphological and transcriptional responses of most present‐day

Kisspeptin as a test of hypothalamic dysfunction in pubertal and reproductive disorders

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 4, Page 1002-1016, May 2026.
Abstract The hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis is regulated by the gonadotropin‐releasing hormone pulse generator in the hypothalamus. This is comprised of neurons that secrete kisspeptin in a pulsatile manner to stimulate the release of GnRH, and, in turn, downstream gonadotropins from the pituitary gland, and subsequently sex steroids and ...

Characteristics of Executive Function in School‐Aged Girls With Idiopathic Central Precocious Puberty

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study examined executive function (EF) in school‐aged girls with idiopathic central precocious puberty (ICPP). Using computerized cognitive tasks and behavioral scales, we found a selective impairment in interference control rather than generalized EF deficit.
