The Insulin/IGF System in Mammalian Sexual Development and Reproduction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
Persistent research over the past few decades has clearly established that the insulin-like family of growth factors, which is composed of insulin and insulin-like growth factors 1 (IGF1) and 2 (IGF2), plays essential roles in sexual development and ...

HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN REPRODUKSI DAN KETAATAN BERAGAMA DENGAN SIKAP TERHADAP HUBUNGAN SEKS PRANIKAH (STUDI PADA SISWA KELAS II SMAN 1 SEMARANG) CORRELATION BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE OF REPRODUCTION HEALTH, RELIGIOUSNESS OBEDIENCE AND ATTITUDE TO PREMARITAL SEXUAL INTERCOURSE (STUDY ON THE SECOND GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 1 SEMARANG) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004

Evolution of ethnocentrism on undirected and directed Barabási-Albert networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Using Monte Carlo simulations, we study the evolution of contigent cooperation and ethnocentrism in the one-move game. Interactions and reproduction among computational agents are simulated on undirected and directed Barabási-\ud Albert (BA) networks. We

Evaluation of the dose reduction effect of crystalline lens exposure in cone‐beam computed tomography with bismuth eye shield for image‐guided radiation therapy: An anthropomorphic phantom study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the dose‐exposure reduction effect of a crystalline lens with a bismuth eye shield using cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) for head image‐guided radiation therapy. The ocular surface dose of the head phantom (THRA‐1) is defined as a crystalline lens exposure dose and is measured using a radiophotoluminescence ...

Sex differences in lymphoma incidence and mortality by subtype: A population‐based study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 98, Issue 1, Page 23-30, January 2023., 2023
A higher incidence and a trend toward higher mortality in men for most lymphoma subtypes is seen in this Swedish population‐based cohort study on adults (age 18‐99) diagnosed with lymphoma 2000‐2019. Male‐to‐female incidence rate ratio (IRR) by male‐to‐female excess mortality ratio (EMR), both adjusted for age and year of diagnosis, by lymphoma subtype.

Inbreeding and outbreeding depressions in the Penna model as a result of crossover frequency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The population in the sexual Penna ageing model is first separated into several reproductively isolated groups. Then, after equilibration, sexual mixing between the groups is allowed. We study the changes in the population size due to this mixing and interpret them through a counterplay of purifying selection and of haplotype complementarity.

Phase Transition in Sexual Reproduction and Biological Evolution

open access: yes, 2008
Using Monte Carlo model of biological evolution we have discovered that populations can switch between two different strategies of their genomes' evolution; Darwinian purifying selection and complementing the haplotypes. The first one is exploited in the

Insights into the Molecular Evolution of Fertilization Mechanism in Land Plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Land plants have evolved successive changes during their conquest of the land and innovations in sexual reproduction have played a major role in their terrestrialization.

Utilization of real‐world data in assessing treatment effectiveness for diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 98, Issue 1, Page 180-192, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Direct comparisons of the effectiveness of the numerous novel therapies in the diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treatment landscape in a range of head‐to‐head randomized phase 3 trials would be time‐consuming and costly. Comparative effectiveness studies using real‐world data (RWD) represent a complementary approach.

Relationship of cognitive decline with glucocerebrosidase activity and amyloid‐beta 42 in DLB and PD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Parkinson's disease (PD) share clinical, pathological, and genetic risk factors, including GBA1 and APOEε4 mutations. Biomarkers associated with the pathways of these mutations, such as glucocerebrosidase enzyme (GCase) activity and amyloid‐beta 42 (Aβ42) levels, may hold potential as predictive ...
