The SSES-E: A Measure of Sexual Self-Efficacy in Erectile Functioning

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate the Sexual Self-Efficacy Scale (SSES-E) for erectile disorder. The subjects consisted of 15 heterosexual couples with nonproblematic sexual functioning (normal group) and a sexually dysfunctional sample consisting of nine heterosexual couples and eight heterosexual single males (dysfunctional group).

Women's self-efficacy and sexually transmitted disease preventive behaviors

Knowledge of sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention, perceived risk for STDs, and self-efficacy for STD prevention were investigated as predictors of behavioral risk for STDs in 308 female college students. Perceived risk and self-efficacy predicted 19% of behavioral risk for STD; knowledge was not a predictor.
