Abstract Crocodilians, together with birds, are the only extant relatives to many extinct archosaur groups, making them highly important for interpreting paleopathological conditions in a phylogenetic disease bracketing model. Abstract Human childbirth is mechanically difficult because a large‐headed, broad‐shouldered fetus must pass through a comparatively narrow, twisted bony birth canal. Traditional explanations of this “obstetrical dilemma” emphasize the role of bipedal locomotion in inhibiting the evolution of a wider, more spacious pelvis.

Genomic Structural Variations Provide Insights Into Litter Size and Teat Number Traits in Hu Sheep

Here, we conducted whole genome sequencing on 300 Hu sheep with an average depth of 16.51X. Two candidate genes associated with litter size and teat number traits were identified, namely MAST2 and AFDN. ABSTRACT Litter size and the teat number are important economic indicators in sheep production.
