Bed bug preferences for host odor or aggregation odor are differentially modulated by physiological state in various odorscapes

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
The bed bug olfactory system is highly tuned to two odor sources with dedicated odor information‐processing pathways that are modulated by the satiety–hunger state. Understanding the dynamic nature of switching odor preferences at different phases of blood digestion will contribute to the development of lures with host kairomones and aggregation ...

Unlocking the genetic control of early seedling resistance to wheat powdery mildew through microphenomics

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Microphenomics is a new technique for detecting the very early resistance of powdery mildew in wheat seedlings, after 24, 48, and 72 h from infection. A number of 29, 42, and 34 genes models were identified to harbor significant SNP markers associated with the early resistance to WPM.

Field resistance of orange fruit to citrus black spot and citrus canker in D‐limonene synthase downregulated trees

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Genetically modified (GM) sweet‐oranges with downregulated CitMTSE1 gene showed reduced citrus black spot severity and citrus canker incidence, confirming terpene modulation as a promising strategy for sustainable field citrus disease resistance. Abstract BACKGROUND Citrus black spot (CBS), caused by Phyllosticta citricarpa, and citrus canker (CC ...

Harnessing Natural Compounds in Psoriasis: Targeting Cellular Pathways for Effective Therapy

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
Natural compounds act on key cellular pathways in psoriasis by suppressing keratinocyte hyperproliferation, modulating Th17/IL‐17‐mediated immune responses, and reducing oxidative stress. These multi‐target effects highlight their potential as safer adjunctive therapies alongside conventional treatments.
