Ultraviolet-Optical observations of the Seyfert 2 Galaxies NGC 7130, NGC 5135 and IC 3639: Implications for the Starburst-AGN Connection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We present and discuss HST (WFPC2 and FOC) images and UV GHRS spectra plus ground-based near UV through to near IR spectra of three Seyfert 2 nuclei (NGC 7130, NGC 5135 and IC 3639). These galaxies, together to Mrk 477, were selected from a bigger sample

Forty Years of X-Raying Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies

open access: yesActa Polytechnica CTU Proceedings, 2014
Forty years after the discovery of Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 Galaxies (NLS1s), and 20 years since the discovery of the remarkable ultrasoft soft X-ray emissions of NLS1s, strategic publications improved the understanding of the Seyfert phenomenon more ...

Stellar indices and kinematics in Seyfert 1 nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present spectra of 6 type 1 Seyfert galaxies, 2 Seyfert 2, a starburst galaxy and a compact narrow line radiogalaxy, taken in two spectral ranges centered around the near--IR CaII triplet (CaT) (at ~8600 Angstroms), and the Mgb stellar feature at 5180

Neutral Gas Outflows and Inflows in Infrared-Faint Seyfert Galaxies

open access: yes, 2009
Previous studies of the Na I D interstellar absorption line doublet have shown that galactic winds occur in most galaxies with high infrared luminosities.

Growth of Accreting Supermassive Black Hole Seeds and Neutrino Radiation

open access: yesJournal of Astrophysics, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
In the framework of microscopic theory of black hole (MTBH), which explores the most important processes of rearrangement of vacuum state and spontaneous breaking of gravitation gauge symmetry at huge energies, we have undertaken a large series of numerical simulations with the goal to trace an evolution of the mass assembly history of 377 plausible ...

Continuous Filament Network of the Local Universe

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Simulated galaxy distributions are suitable for developing filament detection algorithms. However, samples of observed galaxies, being of limited size, cause difficulties that lead to a discontinuous distribution of filaments.

The environment of AGNs and the activity degree of their surrounding galaxies

open access: yes, 2012
Aims. We present results of a comprehensive spectral study on the large-scale environment of AGNs based on Sloan Spectroscopic Survey data. Methods. We analyzed the spectra of galaxies in the environment of AGN and other activity classes up to distances ...

Retrograde versus Prograde Models of Accreting Black Holes

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
There is a general consensus that magnetic fields, accretion disks, and rotating black holes are instrumental in the generation of the most powerful sources of energy in the known universe. Nonetheless, because magnetized accretion onto rotating black holes involves both the complications of nonlinear magnetohydrodynamics that currently cannot fully be

Host galaxies of jetted narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of Revisiting narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies and their place in the Universe — PoS(NLS1-2018), 2018
We performed $J$-band observations of the host galaxies of nine narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1). Seven of these sources have been detected at 37 GHz and are likely to host relativistic jets. Host galaxy properties of the jetted NLS1 galaxies are not yet well known, and investigating them is essential to get more insight into their characteristics

New bright Seyfert Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1982
As part of an ongoing program of measuring galaxy redshifts at Mount Hopkins observatory, we have discovered several previously unknown bright Seyfert galaxies. Most of the objects are of Seyfert type 2, but several are type 1 objects where the broad permitted line region is easily visible only for the H..cap alpha.. line.
