Molecular mechanism for transcriptional regulation of the parathyroid hormone gene by Epiprofin
The FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 14, Page 3659-3675, July 2025.The secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) from the chief cells in the parathyroid glands is regulated by the concentration of extracellular calcium. Epiprofin (Epfn) expression is induced by NFATc2 in response to elevated serum calcium, and Epfn negatively regulates PTH production.
