4D Printed Self‐Deploying Bio‐Based Scaffolds for the Regeneration of Endoluminal Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 11, June 5, 2025.
A bilayer self‐deploying tubular C‐shaped scaffold, made of natural polymers and triggerable by humidity, is fabricated via 4D printing for the regeneration of gastro‐intestinal tissue. The choice of the materials and their spatial arrangement is guided by physical and biological evaluation, whereas the geometry of the structure is optimized through ...

Human counting versus artificial intelligence for assessing medullation in mohair fibres

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Animal Science
The fleeces of mammals with dense coats, such as the mohair fleeces of Angora goats, usually include medullated fibres. These fibres constitute a problem for the textile industry because of their structural characteristics.

Acid Sulfate Soils and Their Impact on Surface Water Quality: A Case Study in Southeast Brazil

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, Volume 76, Issue 3, May–June 2025.
ABSTRACT Re‐flooding of previously drained and oxidised acid sulfate soils (ASSs) can stimulate reduction processes while decreasing soil acidity, thereby mitigating the harmful effects of acidity. The aim of this study is to explore the pedogenesis of ASSs in a tropical climate and to assess the impact of ASS on surface water quality at the end of the

Power control system structure of doubly‐fed induction generator connected to current source converter

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 18, Issue S1, Page 4377-4386, 18 December 2024.
The classical field oriented control and the feedback control with the multi‐scalar variables were considered. The generator is working in the AC grid connection mode. The rotor side of the generator is connected to the current source converter; the stator is directly related to the AC grid.

Duck plague virus US3 kinase phosphorylates and induces STING degradation to inhibit innate immune responses

open access: yesPoultry Science
Duck plague virus (DPV) causes the highest mortality rate among aquatic birds; however, its antago nistic mechanism against antiviral innate immune responses remains elusive.

Marine heatwave‐driven mass mortality and microbial community reorganisation in an ecologically important temperate sponge

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 30, Issue 8, August 2024.
Marine heatwaves (MHWs) are increasing in frequency, duration and intensity, disrupting global marine ecosystems. In this study, we examine the impact of a severe MHW in 2022 on the ecologically important photosynthetic sponge Cymbastella lamellata in Fiordland, New Zealand.

Chicken CircZNF609 encodes a protein induced by IRES-like region that inhibits the proliferation and promotes the differentiation of myoblasts

open access: yesPoultry Science
Skeletal muscle is comprised of multinucleated myofibers that arise from myogenesis, a highly coordinated process encompassing the proliferation and differentiation of myoblasts.

Miocene sequences and depocentres in the Roer Valley Rift System

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 36, Issue 4, July–August 2024.
This research presents new insights into the evolution of the Miocene depocentres in the Roer Valley Rift System. A multi‐scale approach was used to establish a subdivision of the late Miocene sequence that can be regionally correlated, and further characterize the implications of the ‘Mid‐Miocene Unconformity’.
