Breakdown Strength of N2-SF6 Gas Mixtures Containing 10% and 5% SF6 Compared with pure SF6

2001
SF6 as insulating gas has a very good dielectric strength. Therefore, SF6 is used in many applications. Nowadays, it is investigated again whether SF6-N2 mixtures can replace pure SF6 in for example gas-insulated substations and lines. For pure SF6 the optimal gas pressure varies between 4 and 6 bar.

Janus MoSSe monolayer: A highly strain-sensitive gas sensing material to detect SF6 decompositions

, 2020
Four main SF6 decompositions (H2S, SO2, SOF2 and SO2F2) adsorption on S-layer and Se-layer of the Janus MoSSe monolayer was investigated by first principles calculation in this work.

Low SF6 concentration SF6 / N2 Mixtures for GIL

1998
Environment concerns have led Electricite de France to consider the use of low-SF6content SF6/N2 mixtures for the development of 400 kV Gas Insulated Line technology dedicated to the underground parts of OHL links.

Formation and dissociation behaviors of SF6 hydrates in the presence of a surfactant and an antifoaming agent for hydrate-based greenhouse gas (SF6) separation

, 2020
Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), the most potent greenhouse gas, should be separated from gas mixtures for recycling and for mitigation of global warming. In this study, the formation and dissociation behaviors of SF6 hydrates in the presence of a surfactant ...

Intensitten myonischer Rntgenlinien in SF6 und H2 plus SF6

Zeitschrift fr Physik A Atoms and Nuclei, 1975
Muonic X-ray spectra from S and F in SF6 and H2+SF6 have been measured with a high-pressure gas target. Strong differences between the observed intensities of corresponding lines were found for the two cases. The results are compared with cascade calculations. The per-atom ratio between Coulomb capture in F and S was determined to be 0.96±0.09 and 1.04±

Temperature dependence of pulsed discharge-initiated HF chemical lasers using SF6/H2, SF6/CH4, and SF6/C4H10 mixtures

Applied Physics Letters, 1974
Energy and spectral measurements of pulsed discharge-initiated HF chemical lasers are presented. SF6/H2, SF6/CH4, and SF6/C4H10 mixtures at 228, 296, and 373 °K are considered. At the optimum pressure for each mixture, HF chemical laser output has been found to depend weakly on temperature; optimum output energy was enhanced as the initial mixture ...

The small binding energies of the negative cluster ions: SF5−(SF6)1, SF6−(SF6)1 and F−(SF6) (n = 1 and 2), in the gas phase

Chemical Physics Letters, 1995
Abstract The gas-phase clustering reactions of SF 5 − , SF 6 − and F − ions with SF 6 were measured using a high-pressure mass spectrometer. The bond energies of SF 5 − (SF 6 ) 1 and SF 6 − (SF 6 ) 1 were estimated to be ⩽2.3 kcal/mol. The bond energies of F − (SF 6 ) n with n = 1 and 2 were determined to be 5.4 and ≈4.1 kcal/mol ...

Complete valence double photoionization of SF6

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005
Single photon double ionization of SF6 has been investigated at the photon energies 38.71, 40.814, and 48.372eV by using a recently developed time-of-flight photoelectron–photoelectron coincidence spectroscopy technique which gives complete two-dimensional e−–e− spectra.

SF6 Management from Craddle to Craddle Advantage of SF6 Recycling

2017
SF6 is a very safe gas, which will continue to be used for years. Due to its hudge GWP SF6 has to be mastered, recovered and retreated for reuse—Greenway, an eco label issued by Inventec helps to have a more responsible management of SF6 i Recycling allows to drive the gas from cradle to cradle.
