Measurement of Rock Joint Surfaces by Using Smartphone Structure from Motion (SfM) Photogrammetry. [PDF]
The measurement of rock joint surfaces is essential for the estimation of the shear strength of the rock discontinuities in rock engineering. Commonly used techniques for the acquisition of the morphology of the surfaces, such as profilometers and laser scanners, either have low accuracy or high cost.

EFFICIENT DIKE MONITORING USING TERRESTRIAL SFM PHOTOGRAMMETRY [PDF]
Nature based solutions are growing rapidly in order to mitigate in the near future the effects of climate change and rise of sea level on most anthropogenic coasts. In that frame, the CHERbourg bLOC (CHERLOC) project aims to study new coastal engineering

Camera system considerations for geomorphic applications of SfM photogrammetry
AbstractThe availability of high‐resolution, multi‐temporal, remotely sensed topographic data is revolutionizing geomorphic analysis. Three‐dimensional topographic point measurements acquired from structure‐from‐motion (SfM) photogrammetry have been shown to be highly accurate and cost‐effective compared to laser‐based alternatives in some environments.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS RELATED TO THE APPLICATION OF SFM PHOTOGRAMMETRY IN HIGH MOUNTAIN [PDF]
Structure-from-Motion (SfM) photogrammetry is a flexible and powerful tool to provide 3D point clouds describing the surface of objects. Due to the easy transportability and low-cost of necessary equipment with respect to laser scanning techniques, SfM ...

Automated extraction of free surface topography using SfM-MVS photogrammetry
This paper describes a spatial measurement technique to measure the free surface of natural fluid flows in laboratory applications. This effective solution is based on “Structure-from- Motion/Multi-view Stereo” (SfM-MVS) photogrammetry and is capable of reconstructing water surface morphology, both at an instant and with a high spatial resolution.

Recovery via SfM photogrammetry of latent footprint impressions in carpet [PDF]
AbstractImpression evidence retained in carpet is usually recovered, if at all, in two dimensions via a vertical photograph. Here, we show that recovery is also possible via SfM photogrammetry and this gives good quality results that allow digital measurements both in the x‐y plane and by depth (z‐axis).

SfM photogrammetry for GeoArchaeology [PDF]
Geoarchaeological studies have benefits from new technological developments in remote-sensing technologies that have become an integral and important part of the archeological researches. In particular, structure-from-motion (SfM) photogrammetry is one of the most successful emerging techniques in high-resolution topography (HRT) and provides ...

Characterization of joint roughness using close-range UAV-SfM photogrammetry [PDF]
Abstract The Structure from Motion (SfM) photogrammetric technique has emerge as an efficient alternative for remote 3D rock mass characterization, compared to laser scanner (LiDAR) or stereoscopic photogrammetry, due to its economy and ease of use.

Exploring the Optimal 4D-SfM Photogrammetric Models at Plot Scale
Structure from Motion (4D-SfM) photogrammetry can capture the changes in surface processes with high spatial and temporal resolution, which is widely used to quantify the dynamic change process of the ground surface.
