From Resistivity to Hydraulic Properties: Calibrating a Groundwater Flow Model by Integrating Airborne Electromagnetic and Borehole Data Into a Probabilistic Multi‐Texture Framework

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Airborne electromagnetic (AEM) surveys offer rapid, cost‐effective subsurface imaging, yet converting their electrical resistivity (ER) models into physically meaningful hydraulic property fields for groundwater models remains a challenge. We develop and demonstrate a data‐driven workflow for an unconsolidated sedimentary aquifer system in ...

Integrated Clinical Trial and Molecular Profiling Reveals Immune Drivers of Chronic Hand Eczema

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 8, Page 2815-2832, August 2026.
This study performed an unbiased molecular profiling of CHE patients across diverse etiologies to identify shared pathogenic drivers and evaluate the impact of IL‐4Rα blockade via dupilumab over 16 weeks. CHE shows a mixed immune signature involving type 1, 2, and 3 pathways with features of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Perceived Parental Stress in Open Bay Versus Single‐Family Rooms in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 115, Issue 8, Page 1708-1718, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To assess the impact of changing the NICU environment from an open bay unit to a single‐family room on perceived parental stress. Methods An observational longitudinal cohort study was conducted between February 2021 and January 2024, during which time the NICU environment of the Emma Children's Hospital Amsterdam UMC changed from open bay

Quality and Consistency of Penicillin Allergy Delabelling Guidelines: A Systematic Review

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 8, Page 867-880, August 2026.
Eighteen penicillin allergy delabelling guidelines from 12 countries were reviewed. There is consensus for staged risk‐based testing, with emerging support for direct oral challenge in low‐risk patients and expanded non‐specialist roles. Overall guideline quality was low, with major gaps in methodological rigour, stakeholder involvement, and ...

Transformation of Alternaria dauci demonstrates the involvement of two polyketide synthase genes in aldaulactone production and fungal pathogenicity

open access: yesScientific Reports
Chemical warfare between the host and the pathogen plays a crucial role in plant-necrotrophic pathogen interactions, but examples of its involvement in quantitative disease resistance in plants are poorly documented. In the Daucus carota-Alternaria dauci

Identification of Frailty Subtypes in African American Adults With and Without Type 2 Diabetes: A Latent Class Analysis From the Jackson Heart Study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 8, Page 7218-7226, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims To identify frailty subtypes among African American adults with and without diabetes. Methods This analysis included data from 3979 African American men and women who enrolled in the Jackson Heart Study at baseline (Exam1: 2000–2004). To identify frailty subtypes, we selected 25 age‐related deficits in health and functional outcomes as ...

Physiological and Behavioural Characterisation of a Novel Steroid Sulfatase‐Deficient Mouse

open access: yesGenes, Brain and Behavior, Volume 25, Issue 4, August 2026.
STS‐deficient mice are grossly healthy and breed as expected, but are mildly hyperactive and have heavier hearts compared with sex‐matched wildtype controls. ABSTRACT Steroid sulfatase (STS) cleaves sulphate groups from steroid hormones. In humans, STS deficiency is associated with X‐linked ichthyosis, an increased predisposition to neurodevelopmental ...

Superior Fulcrum Reconstruction for Massive Irreparable Rotator Cuff Tears Using the Peroneus Longus Tendon in 2 Variations: A Cadaveric Static Biomechanical Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine
Background: Massive and irreparable rotator cuff tears (MIRCTs) pose unique challenges, and clinicians have explored a variety of surgical approaches to manage them. However, the optimal treatment strategies for MIRCT remain widely debated.
