Survey of H-alpha emission from thirty nearby dwarf galaxies
Measurements of the H-alpha flux from 30 neighboring dwarf galaxies are presented. After correction for absorption, these fluxes are used to estimate the star formation rate (SFR).

The star formation history of the Sculptor Dwarf Irregular Galaxy [PDF]
[abridged] We study the resolved stellar populations and derive the SFH of the SDIG, a gas-rich dwarf galaxy member of the NGC7793 subgroup in the Sculptor group. We construct a CMD using archival HST observations and examine its stellar content.

ABSTRACT Diamond–Blackfan Anemia Syndrome (DBAS) is a rare congenital anemia often requiring chronic red blood cell transfusions from infancy. Without appropriate chelation, iron overload develops early and may be severe; however, no data are available on chelation in patients under 3 years of age.

Black hole accretion versus star formation rate: theory confronts observations
We use a suite of hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy mergers to compare star formation rate (SFR) and black hole accretion rate (BHAR) for galaxies before the interaction ('stochastic' phase), during the `merger' proper, lasting ~0.2-0.3 Gyr, and in ...

Introduction: Success of any modality for stone disease needs to be evaluated in terms of Stone Free Rates (SFR), auxiliary procedures needed; complications and follow up. SFR in RIRS is subject to parameters like stone burden, location, number, hardness,

We study a hundred of galaxies from the spectroscopic Sloan Digital Sky Survey with individual detections in the Far-Infrared Herschel PACS bands (100 or 160 $\mu$m) and in the GALEX Far-UltraViolet band up to z$\sim$0.4 in the COSMOS and Lockman Hole ...

The Influence of Environment on the Star Formation Rates of Galaxies [PDF]
We have used a sample of 15749 galaxies taken from the Las Campanas Redshift Survey to investigate the effects of environment on the rate of star formation (SFR) in galaxies.

Revealing the High-Redshift Star Formation Rate with Gamma-Ray Bursts
While the high-z frontier of star formation rate (SFR) studies has advanced rapidly, direct measurements beyond z ~ 4 remain difficult, as shown by significant disagreements among different results.

Comparing the relation between star formation and galaxy mass in different environments [PDF]
Analyzing 24 mu m MIPS/Spitzer data and the [O II]3727 line of a sample of galaxies at 0.4 < z < 0.8 from the ESO Distant Cluster Survey (EDisCS), we investigate the ongoing star formation rate (SFR) and the specific star formation rate (SSFR) as a ...
