We report two autopsy cases of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) with a high fatality rate in aged Japanese patients. Both cases were caused by a tick‐bite. The pathognomonic histological feature was necrotizing lymphadenitis of systemic

ABSTRACT Objective To compare the trajectories of placental biomarkers throughout pregnancy after aspirin discontinuation at 24–28 weeks with those of a cohort treated until 36 weeks of gestation. Design A longitudinal secondary analysis of the StopPRE trial, using repeated measures of soluble fms‐like tyrosine kinase‐1 (sFlt‐1), placental growth ...

Epidemiology of SFTS in China [PDF]
Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is a novel emerging virus infection that was first found and reported in Peoples’ Republic of China in 2009 and 2011, respectively. SFTS was later reported in Japan and South Korea, suggesting that SFTS is endemic to East Asian countries. Among these countries, the most SFTS cases have been reported in

We evaluated the diagnostic utility of GPNMB immunohistochemistry in LAM. GPNMB showed strong expression in LAM cells, while the differential diagnostic mimics showed no or only low expression. Based on its 100% sensitivity and specificity in our cohort, GPNMB is a highly reliable immunohistochemical marker for the diagnosis of LAM.

Strain rate effect on lignin‐filled glass/PP LFT composites showing enhanced tensile strength and microstructural response at elevated loading rates. ABSTRACT Fiber‐reinforced composites are employed in various sectors, such as the transportation sector, where they are subjected to various loading conditions, including high loading rates. In this study,

Constraints on galaxy formation from alpha-enhancement in luminous elliptical galaxies
We explore the formation of alpha-enhanced and metal-rich stellar populations in the nuclei of luminous ellipticals under the assumption of two extreme galaxy formation scenarios based on hierarchical clustering, namely a fast clumpy collapse and the ...
