Functional Characterization of the Maize Phytochrome-Interacting Factors PIF4 and PIF5
Phytochrome-interacting factors (PIFs) play important roles in photomorphogenesis, the shade avoidance response, and other aspects of plant growth and development.

Comfort driven adaptive window opening behaviour and the influence of building design [PDF]
It is important to understand and model the behaviour of occupants in buildings and how this behaviour impacts energy use and comfort. It is similarly important to understand how a buildings design affects occupant comfort, occupant behaviour and ...

Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Weed problems and possibilities for their control in salix for biomass [PDF]
Salix is a dedicated arable bioenergy crop that is presently grown on 12,000 ha in Sweden. It has probably the best environmental profile among the arable bioenergy crops grown in Sweden partly because neither fungicides nor insecticides are used in the ...

Charge transport in 2D tin perovskite FETs is shown to be governed by dielectric interface behavior. Polar polymer dielectrics induce dipolar disorder that localizes carriers, whereas nonpolar polymers suppress trapping and enable superior charge transport, ensuring stable and reliable transistor operation. ABSTRACT Understanding the role of interfaces

Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.

Starfished in the sand : developing the theory of planned behaviour to predict intentions to use sunscreen on the beach : a research project presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Psychology at Massey University, Albany, Auckland, New Zealand [PDF]
This study examined the predictive power of the theory of planned behaviour in explaining sunscreen use intentions among beach-goers in New Zealand (n = 148) and the United Kingdom (n = 280). Generally, the theory of planned behaviour performed well with

A Non‐Reciprocal Architected Porous Medium
ABSTRACT In several fluid flow, energy‐dumping, and energy‐harvesting applications, a dominant flow direction or dominant resistance direction is desirable. In this study, we propose a simple modular geometry that doubles flow resistance in one direction relative to the opposite direction, while maintaining laminar viscous flow.

Network analysis identifies ELF3 as a QTL for the shade avoidance response in Arabidopsis.
Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) analyses in immortal populations are a powerful method for exploring the genetic mechanisms that control interactions of organisms with their environment.
