Multi-Objective Grey Wolf Optimizer for Optimal Design of Switching Matrix for Shaded PV array Dynamic Reconfiguration

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
One of the worst negative phenomena faced by photovoltaic (PV) array is the operation under the shadow phenomenon, which significantly affects the generated power.

Mites (Acari) threaten ex situ conservation actions of Ipomoea cavalcantei D.F. Austin (Convolvulaceae), an endemic species from Carajás National Forest, Pará, Brazil

open access: yesEntomological Communications, 2023
Ipomoea cavalcantei D.F. Austin (Convolvulaceae) is a Highly Restricted Endemic species only found in Canga vegetation in conservation areas in the Carajás region, Parauapebas, State of Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon.

Enhancing PV Power Extraction Under Partial Shading Condition with Shade Dispersion Strategy

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences
Improving photovoltaic (PV) system efficiency is a popular field of research. Partial shading (PS) adversely impacts the solar system's output power, which considerably reduces the system's efficiency.

Pandiagonal Magic Square Reconfiguration of Partially Shaded Photovoltaic Arrays for Simplified MPPT and Power Enhancement

open access: yesIEEE Access
Partial shading remains a critical challenge in photovoltaic (PV) systems, causing power losses, current mismatch, and multiple peaks in the power-voltage (P-V) characteristics, thereby reducing overall energy yield.

Non-linear effects of drought under shade: reconciling physiological and ecological models in plant communities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The combined effects of shade and drought on plant performance and the implications for species interactions are highly debated in plant ecology. Empirical evidence for positive and negative effects of shade on the performance of plants under dry ...

Shade-regulated gene expression in petioles.

open access: yes, 2022
A) Number of genes significantly differentially regulated by shade in the different conditions: genotypes (Col-0 and aos), timepoints (Time 1 and Time 2) and wounding treatment (unwounded in blue, wounded in orange).

Large‐ and small‐seeded species have contrasting functional neighborhoods in a subtropical forest

open access: yesEcosphere, 2020
Forest community composition is the outcome of multiple forces, including those that increase taxonomic and functional divergence and those that promote convergence in traits.

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).
