Nonisomorphism, Shadow Features and Imputed Preferences
Marketing Science, 1985Problems arise in generalizing research results based on artificial objects to the case of real products. The few previous investigations of this issue may have obtained inflated assessments of predictive validity by focusing unrealistically on stimuli with isomorphic features and perceptions.

A Shadow Elimination Algorithm Based on HSV Spatial Feature and Texture Feature
2017In order to improve the accuracy of the detection and tracking task in the intelligent surveillance system, we propose a shadow elimination algorithm based on HSV spatial feature and texture feature. In this paper, firstly the background subtraction is used to obtain the motion area of the sequence image, where HSV feature is used to determine the ...

Estimating the length of a radar shadow in shadow-feature-enhanced detection using a fuzzy system
10th IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems. (Cat. No.01CH37297), 2002Shadow-feature-enhanced radar detection algorithms potentially allow the probability of target detection to be substantially increased when a target casts a radar shadow across a region of clutter beyond it. However, when the length of the radar shadow is not correctly known, much of the potential performance gain may be lost.

Atmospheric correction of IKONOS with cloud and shadow image features
2007 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2007In this paper, we present a method for atmospheric correction that uses the cloud and shadow image features. An iterative scheme is formulated to computes the ratio of diffuse to direct irradiance as well as the path radiance using the radiance detected over the open water and shadow pixels. These parameters are then used to compute the cloud and water

SAR image feature detection using shadow information
SPIE Proceedings, 2003Many features of interest in SAR images cast shadows. Exploiting the information provided by these shadows may enhance the detection of such features. Here, algorithms of shadow processing schemes are derived and the efficacy of such schemes is investigated by analysis and simulation.

New spectrum ratio properties and features for shadow detection
Pattern Recognition, 2016Successfully detecting shadows in still images is challenging yet has wide applications. Shadow properties and features are very important for shadow detection and processing. The aim of this work is to find some new physical properties of shadows and use them as shadow features to design an effective shadow detection method for outdoor color images ...

Cast Shadow Removal Combining Local and Global Features
2007 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2007In this paper, we present a method using pixel-level information, local region-level information and global-level information to remove shadow. At the pixel-level, we employ GMM to model the behavior of cast shadow for every pixel in the HSV color space, as it can deal with complex illumination conditions.

Shadow edge detection using geometric and photometric features
2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2009The detection of shadow and shading edges is a first step towards reducing the imaging effects that are caused by interactions of the light source with surfaces that are in the scene. As most of the algorithms for shadow edge detection use photometric information, geometric information have been ignored so far.

Construction of Shadow Model by Robust Features to Illumination Changes
International Journal of Software Innovation, 2013Methods in the field of computer vision need a shadow detection because shadows often have a harmful effect on a result. A new shadow detection method is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is based on the shadow model. The model is constructed by robust features to illumination changes.

[Constitutional features of cardiovascular shadow characteristics].
Morfologiia (Saint Petersburg, Russia), 1999The front straight projection roentgenograms of the chest of 1210 healthy persons of age 17-22 and 212 roentgenograms of the chest in left side projection were studied. Their somatic type was defined beforehand on the different variation levels. It was determined, that the position and size of the cardiovascular shadow depend on the somatic type on the
