Vehicles Speed Estimation Model from Video Streams for Automatic Traffic Flow Analysis Systems

open access: yesJOIV: International Journal on Informatics Visualization, 2023
Image and video processing have been widely used to provide traffic parameters, which will be used to improve certain areas of traffic operations. This research aims to develop a model for estimating vehicle speed from video streams to support traffic ...

Vectorisation of Sketches with Shadows and Shading using COSFIRE filters [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM Symposium on Document Engineering 2018, 2018
Engineering design makes use of freehand sketches to communicate ideas, allowing designers to externalise form concepts quickly and naturally. Such sketches serve as working documents which demonstrate the evolution of the design process. For the product design to progress, however, these sketches are often redrawn using computer-aided design tools to ...

Low-Cost PVD Shadow Masks with Submillimeter Resolution from Laser-Cut Paper

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
We characterize an affordable method of producing stencils for submillimeter physical vapor deposition (PVD) by using paper and a benchtop laser cutter. Patterning electrodes or similar features on top of organic or biological substrates is generally not

Axis-aligned filtering for interactive sampled soft shadows [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics, 2012
We develop a simple and efficient method for soft shadows from planar area light sources, based on explicit occlusion calculation by raytracing, followed by adaptive image-space filtering. Since the method is based on Monte Carlo sampling, it is accurate.

Design of Shadow Filter Using Low-Voltage Multiple-Input Operational Transconductance Amplifiers

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper introduces shadow filters that employ multiple-input operational transconductance amplifiers (MI-OTAs) as the active component. Two configurations of shadow filters are proposed.

Shadow Information Spaces: Combinatorial Filters for Tracking Targets [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2012
This paper introduces and solves a problem of maintaining the distribution of hidden targets that move outside the field of view while a sensor sweep is being performed, resulting in a generalization of the sensing aspect of visibility-based pursuit-evasion games. Our solution first applies information space concepts to significantly reduce the general

Shadow filters – new family of second-order filters

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2010
A new family of second-order filters is introduced. When an external voltage amplifier is added to a second-order filter cell (passive or active), the characteristic frequency of the resulting filter can then be modified by acting only on the value of the gain of this amplifier. All the properties of these new filters are examined.
