Another important contoversial issue of the Caldiran war that took place between Yavuz Sultan Selim and Shah Ismail is whether Tajlu Khanum, the wife of Shah Ismail, was taken as a captive by the Ottomans or not. This issue is presented by both Otoman and Safevid historians in terms of shame, honour, sexuality and psychological superiority.
