Adsorption behaviour of shale gas reservoirs
International Journal of Oil, Gas and Coal Technology, 2018Experimental adsorption measurements for one shale sample were conducted at 25°C, 50°C and 75°C up to 2,000 psia by using pure methane (CH4) and pure carbon dioxide (CO2) to understand the behaviour of CH4 and CO2 adsorption on shales. The effects of temperature and pressure on CH4 and CO2 adsorption on the shale sample were observed.

Clay stabilization in sandstone reservoirs and the perspectives for shale reservoirs
Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, 2020This study presents a comprehensive review of clay stabilizers and updated understandings of their mechanisms on stabilizing clay minerals in improved and enhanced oil recovery (IOR and EOR) applications. First, formation damage mechanisms related to clays in conventional sandstone and shale reservoirs are briefly introduced.

Fractured Shale Reservoirs of California
AAPG Bulletin, 1953In California there are two regions in which fractured sedimentary rocks form important oil reservoirs. They are the Santa Maria Coastal district and the southwestern part of the San Joaquin Valley. This type of reservoir rock is limited essentially to fractured chert and siliceous shale of upper Miocene age.
