Management of shallow tropical lakes using integrated lake farming

AbstractIntegrated lake farming, which has been developed in China, is similar to integrated agriculture and employs a culture system based on fish and aquatic plants to reduce eutrophication. The plants are used as feed for fish and food for humans, while aquatic wastes serve to accelerate plant growth.

Skeletal remains have provided key evidence of early human presence in the northern area of the Pampas (Argentina). This contribution reviews the mortality profile and paleopathological data from this region, focusing on the study of human remains found in the Central Pampean Dunefields (General López, Santa Fe, Argentina).
