Nonstationary models for shallow lakes
Asymptotic Analysis, 2000In this paper we study the behaviour of solutions of Navier–Stokes equations with adherence to the bottom and traction by wind at the surface when the aspect ratio $\delta=\hbox{depth}/\hbox{lenght}$ of the domain tends to 0. Precisely, we prove that when wind is moderate, a variational solution converges to the solution of a vertical diffusion model ...

Life at the Shallow Lakes: Bioarchaeological Record of the Northern Pampean Shallow Lake Environment
Skeletal remains have provided key evidence of early human presence in the northern area of the Pampas (Argentina). This contribution reviews the mortality profile and paleopathological data from this region, focusing on the study of human remains found in the Central Pampean Dunefields (General López, Santa Fe, Argentina).Píccoli, Carolina Valeria +2 more

Fishing in a Shallow Lake: Exploring a Classic Fishery Model in a Habitat with Shallow Lake Dynamics
Environmental and Resource Economics, 2011Renewable resources such as fish exist within habitats. Harvesting activities may directly impact the habitat, beyond the influence caused by changing the balance between species. When harvesting activities impact stock size and habitat health in different ways, both states must be explicitly considered.

The political economy of shallow lakes
2007Shallow lakes display hysteresis in their response to phosphorous loading. Gradual increases in the nutrient content of the lake can appear to have little effect on the oligotrophic state of the lake until a point at which the lake suddenly flips to a eutrophic state.
