Snowmelt influence in shallow landslides
2020<p>Mass wasting is a major landform shaping process in mountainous and steep terrains, and Italy is among the most affected countries in Europe. Lombardia region has 130.450 landslides mapped, covering an area of 3.300 km2 (i.e. 7.2% of the regional area).

Modeling of rainfall-triggered shallow landslide
Environmental Geology, 2006By integrating hydrological modeling with the infinite slope stability analysis, a rainfall-triggered shallow landslide model was developed by Iverson (Water Resour Res 36:1897-1910, 2000). In Iverson’s model, the infiltration capacity is assumed to be equivalent to the saturated hydraulic conductivity for finding pressure heads analytically.

Multiple Load Case on Flexible Shallow Landslide Barriers: Shallow Landslide and Rockfall
2015Commonly a number of different gravity driven hazards (shallow landslide, rock slide, rockfall, small snow slides) will act at same location, threatening the safety of people, buildings and infrastructure. In this case protection barriers have to be designed to cope with the different load cases of multiple natural hazards (Fig. 77.1).

Impact Pressure Measurements in Shallow Landslides
2013We reproduce shallow landslides by releasing 50 m3 of debris mixture down a 40 m long and 30° steep slope. The slope is instrumented in order to measure front and surface velocities, flow height and impact pressure on small obstacles. The mixture properties are determined from analysis of material samples.

Experimental analysis and modelling of shallow landslides
Landslides, 2007The paper presents the results of some experimental tests reproducing the triggering mechanism of a special kind of shallow landslides induced by rainfalls (soil slip) in a physical 1-g model. The experimental data have been employed to verify the capability of a simplified stability model to describe the phenomenon and to back-analyse its occurrence ...

Physical and numerical modelling of shallow landslides
Landslides, 2015Physical modelling is an extremely useful tool for the study of the triggering process of shallow landslides. For this reason, in this work, numerous laboratory tests have been performed using a specific flume test apparatus. A wide range of initial soil conditions (i.e. porosity and water content) has been investigated to analyze the induced effect on
