This study evaluates the COSMO‐CLM regional climate model over Italy under CMIP6 scenarios. Compared to its driving global model, COSMO‐CLM reduces temperature biases by 50%–75% and better represents precipitation and extremes, adding critical mesoscale detail.

A physical model considered the effect of overland water flow on rainfall-induced shallow landslides [PDF]
Background It is well know that many shallow landslides are triggered by rainfalls. In previous studies of shallow landslide models, the effect of overland water flow on slope stability was ignored. Results

A new species of Lentibulariaceae, Pinguicula brendae Rodríguez‐Ramírez, H.Shimai & A.R. Andrés‐Hernández, is described based on its unique morphological characteristics. This species is restricted to limestone rock walls in the San Bartolo Tutotepec municipality, central‐eastern Hidalgo, Mexico, where it inhabits a single locality on vertical, north ...

ABSTRACT Across circumpolar permafrost regions, climate change is destabilizing ice‐rich hillslopes, increasing the frequency and magnitude of thaw‐driven mass wasting. This paper reviews recent studies (2013–2024) on thaw‐driven mass wasting, focusing on the processes, morphology and trajectories of geomorphic change and their implications for ...

Explores the behavior of carbon in minerals, melts, and fluids under extreme conditions
Carbon trapped in diamonds and carbonate-bearing rocks in subduction zones are examples of the continuing exchange of substantial carbon ...

ABSTRACT The amount and stratigraphic setting of ground ice in permafrost slopes is a key control on the style and magnitude of permafrost mass wasting. Understanding the spatial and stratigraphic variations in ground ice distribution on permafrost slopes is therefore a fundamental property in assessing the stability of permafrost hillslopes.

Application of a physically based model to forecast shallow landslides at a regional scale [PDF]
In this work, we apply a physically based model, namely the HIRESSS (HIgh REsolution Slope Stability Simulator) model, to forecast the occurrence of shallow landslides at the regional scale.

Multitemporal dendrogeomorphological analysis of slope instability in Upper Orcia Valley (Southern Tuscany, Italy) [PDF]
The Upper Orcia Valley (Southern Tuscany, Italy) is a key site for the comprehension of denudation processes typically acting in Mediterranean badlands (calanchi) areas, thanks to the availability of long-lasting erosion monitoring datasets and the ...

ABSTRACT The Nacho Nyäk Tagé (Stewart River) watershed in central Yukon (Canada) is characterized by discontinuous permafrost that is locally highly sensitive to thaw. This study aims to map the spatial distribution of permafrost terrain disturbances (PTDs) in the watershed and model thaw susceptibility to support community‐led land‐use planning by the
