Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Study of the physical quality of shallow ground water in Palu valley for drinking water [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2020
Water is a basic need in various human activities. drinking water for general purposes is generally supplied by the Regional Water Company (RWC), but RWC’s ability to meet the needs of the community is felt to be limited.

On the Limiting Stokes' Wave of Extreme Height in Arbitrary Water Depth

open access: yes, 2018
As mentioned by Schwartz (1974) and Cokelet (1977), it was failed to gain convergent results of limiting Stokes' waves in extremely shallow water by means of perturbation methods even with the aid of extrapolation techniques such as Pad\'{e} approximant.

Equilibrium solutions of the shallow water equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A statistical method for calculating equilibrium solutions of the shallow water equations, a model of essentially 2-d fluid flow with a free surface, is described.

Enhanced Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn Alloy by Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work systematically investigates the effect of aging treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of vacuum arc‐melted Ti‐13Nb‐12Ta‐10Zr‐4Sn alloy. Owing to the increased α″ martensite, strength and corrosion resistance were significantly enhanced by aging treatment.

Temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of water resources in Guangdong Province based on a cloud model

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2015
With a focus on the difficulty of quantitatively describing the degree of nonuniformity of temporal and spatial distributions of water resources, quantitative research was carried out on the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of water ...

Study on the Effect of Deficit Irrigation Composing with Controlled Vegetative on Date Palm Seedlings (CV. Barhee) [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2019
The world population today is about 6.5 billion, and it is estimated that it will increase to 9.1 billion by the year 2050 (UN, 2004). It is estimated that irrigation consumes more than 80% of the good quality water.

Magnetohydrodynamic Shallow Water Waves: Linear Analysis

open access: yes, 2009
We present a linear analysis of inviscid, incompressible, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) shallow water systems. In spherical geometry, a generic property of such systems is the existence of five wave modes.

On the excitation of edge waves on beaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
The excitation of standing edge waves of frequency ½ω by a normally incident wave train of frequency ω has been discussed previously (Guza & Davis 1974; Guza & Inman 1975; Guza & Bowen 1976) on the basis of shallow-water theory.

Highly Sensitive Electrochemical Biosensor Based on Hairy Particles with Controllable High Enzyme Loading and Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,
