Australia's lice treatment device regulation

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy Practice and Research, Volume 55, Issue 5, Page 390-396, October 2025.
Abstract Background Before 2002, products for head lice were entered in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as Registered or Listed Medicines, depending on the active ingredients. Purifying Shampoo: Investigating Shampoo's Heuristics by Decomposing its Preconditioner

open access: yes
The recent success of Shampoo in the AlgoPerf contest has sparked renewed interest in Kronecker-factorization-based optimization algorithms for training neural networks. Despite its success, Shampoo relies heavily on several heuristics such as learning rate grafting and stale preconditioning to achieve performance at-scale.

Exploration of Thioxolone Derivatives: Synthesis, Docking Studies, and Biological Evaluation for Antibacterial and Antidiabetic Activities

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 38, October 13, 2025.
Thioxolone derivatives are evaluated for antibacterial and anti‐diabetic potential. Compounds T‐11, T‐12, and T‐13 exhibit potent antibacterial activity against E. coli, B. cereus, and S. aureus, with low MIC values. T‐11 and T‐3 show stronger α‐glucosidase inhibition than acarbose, while molecular docking reveals T‐13 as the strongest binder ...

ALOXE3 missense variant in a Chihuahua with autosomal recessive ichthyosis

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 56, Issue 5, October 2025.
Abstract Ichthyoses are a heterogenous group of inherited disorders that are characterized by excessive scale formation on the skin. We investigated a Chihuahua with severe scaling since age 12 weeks. The scaling was generalized and involved the entire body and legs. The paw pads were mildly hyperkeratotic.

Coloured polyhydroxyalkanoates: A review

open access: yesColoration Technology, Volume 141, Issue 5, Page 603-620, October 2025.
Abstract Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are a class of biopolymers produced by various microorganisms, with poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate) being the most extensively studied. PHAs are widely studied as substitutes for conventional plastics due to their similar physicochemical properties. However, the production cost of PHAs remains high.

Mirage at the Bottom of the Pyramid [PDF]

open access: yes
