Dual‐Mode Oscillations in SiOx‐Based Threshold Switching Devices for Unconventional Probabilistic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
To enable versatile unconventional computing, a single SiOx threshold switching device is engineered to exhibit controllable dual‐mode oscillation. By modulating the input voltage, the device selectively provides stable full oscillation for oscillatory neural networks and stochastic probabilistic oscillation for probabilistic bits and true random ...

Controlling Dynamical Systems Into Unseen Target States Using Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Parameter‐aware next‐generation reservoir computing enables efficient, data‐driven control of dynamical systems across unseen target states and nonstationary transitions. The approach suppresses transient behavior while navigating system collapse scenarios with minimal training data—over an order of magnitude less than traditional methods.

Uncovering renewable energy policy impact channels on land values, the local farm structure, and farmland heterogeneity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act (REA), enacted in 2000 and subsequently amended, subsidized national renewable energy production with fixed feed‐in tariffs for renewable energy sources (RE) from wind, solar, and biogas. Empirical studies suggest that the policy was creating windfall effects for landowners and attribute farmland use ...
