Phenols are important functional compounds present in vineagr, however, their composition and formation pathways remain uncertain. Herein, non-targeted metabolomics and macrotranscriptomics methods were applied to identify phenols and analyze their formation network during the brewing process of Shanxi aged vinegar.

The Paleoproterozoic (~2.38–2.21 Ga) Yuanjiacun banded iron formation (BIF), located in Shanxi Province, is a Superior-type BIF in the North China craton. This BIF is within a metasedimentary rock succession of the Yuanjiacun Formation, in the lower Luliang Group, which has undergone lower greenschist-facies metamor phism.

Provenance Study of Shanxi Formation, Lower Permian in Southwestern Ordos Basin
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Provenance study is the most basic and important work to find out provenance location and quality, to ascertain sediment transporting way, and to confirm depositional system display in addition to sandstone. Shanxi Formation in Lower Permian has a depositional system distribution from North to South in Ordos Basin.

The Ekou banded iron formation (BIF) in the Wutai area is hosted within the late Archean Baizhiyan formation. The mineral assemblage is used to identify oxide and silicate facies. The oxide facies is composed of magnetite and quartz, and the silicate facies is characterized by the presence of silicate minerals.
