Completion of occluded shapes using symmetry [PDF]
Following the view that symmetry is a continuous feature, a continuous symmetry measure (CSM) is developed to evaluate symmetrics of shapes and objects. The symmetry measure is extended to evaluate the symmetry of occluded shapes. Using the symmetry measure, occluded shapes are reconstructed by locating the center of symmetry of the shape. >

Visual Discrimination Learning in the Jumping Spider Phidippus regius
Over the past decade, research in comparative psychology has increasingly focused on non-vertebrate models of cognition. Jumping spiders provide excellent models for the study of visually mediated behaviors, such as associative learning or the navigation

Human Body Shape Completion with Implicit Shape and Flow Learning
In this paper, we investigate how to complete human body shape models by combining shape and flow estimation given two consecutive depth images. Shape completion is a challenging task in computer vision that is highly under-constrained when considering partial depth observations.

The Limiting Case of Amodal Completion: The Phenomenal Salience and the Role of Contrast Polarity
In this work, we demonstrated unique and relevant visual properties imparted by contrast polarity in perceptual organization and in eliciting amodal completion, which is the vivid completion of a single continuous object of the visible parts of an ...

Interactive 3D Modeling with a Generative Adversarial Network
This paper proposes the idea of using a generative adversarial network (GAN) to assist a novice user in designing real-world shapes with a simple interface. The user edits a voxel grid with a painting interface (like Minecraft).

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Implant Model Generation Method for Mandibular Defect Based on Improved 3D Unet
The accurate reconstruction of a defective part of the mandible is a time-consuming task in maxillofacial surgery. In order to design accurate 3D implants quickly, a method for generating a mandibular defect implant model based on deep learning was ...
