One-Sided Derivative of Parametrized Minima for Shape and Topological Derivatives

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 2023
Abstract. The object of this paper is the differentiation of the infimum of parametrized objective functions with respect to the parameters as in Danskin [ SIAM J. Appl. Math., 14 (1966), pp. 641–664], who obtained a semidifferential equal to the infimum over the set of minimizers of the directional derivative with respect to the ...

Eigenpair Derivative with Respect to Boundary Shape

AIAA Journal, 1997
Summary: We study how changes of boundary shapes affect eigenvalues and eigenfunctions in continuous systems. The governing equation, plus its boundary conditions for the eigenpair derivatives, are derived using the \(\delta\)-function method, which can facilitate the differentiation of boundary conditions with respect to boundary shapes.

Adaptation of kernel functions‐based approach with Atangana–Baleanu–Caputo distributed order derivative for solutions of fuzzy fractional Volterra and Fredholm integrodifferential equations

Mathematical methods in the applied sciences, 2021
Mathematical modeling of uncertain fractional integrodifferentials (FIDEs) is an extremely significant topic in electric circuits, signal processing, electromagnetics, and anomalous diffusion systems.

Derivation of CLAES Filter Shapes

Optical Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere, 1993
The Cryogenic Limb Array Etalon Spectrometer, CLAES, was launched on September 12, 1991 aboard the NASA Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) and has been acquiring data on stratospheric composition since October 1, 1991. Overviews of the CLAES experiment and hardware are given by Roche et al (1) and Burriesci et al. (2).

Ultra‐Adaptable and Wearable Photonic Skin Based on a Shape‐Memory, Responsive Cellulose Derivative

Advanced Functional Materials, 2019
Photonic skins enable a direct and intuitive visualization of various physical and mechanical stimuli with eye‐readable colorations by intimately laminating to target substrates. Their development is still at infancy compared to that of electronic skins.

Shape derivatives for scattering problems

Inverse Problems, 2018
Abstract In this paper we study shape derivatives of solutions of acoustic and elec- tromagnetic scattering problems in frequency domain from the perspective of differential forms following Hiptmair and Li’s work (2013 Ann. Mat. Pura Appl . 192

Topological Derivatives for Shape Reconstruction

2008
Topological derivative methods are used to solve constrained optimization reformulations of inverse scattering problems. The constraints take the form of Helmholtz or elasticity problems with different boundary conditions at the interface between the surrounding medium and the scatterers.

A derivation of Shape Dynamics

2018
By applying the principles of relational field theory to the gravitational field, and using 3D diffeomorphism invariance as our symmetry principle for best matching, it is feasible to reduce the working possibilities to just a few cases. One is a field-theory version of (GR), which is the limit of General Relativity in which the speed of light goes to ...

A geometrical derivation of the shape density

Advances in Applied Probability, 1991
The density for the shapes of random configurations of N independent Gaussian-distributed landmarks in the plane with unequal means was first derived by Mardia and Dryden (1989a). Kendall (1984), (1989) describes a hierarchy of spaces for landmarks, including Euclidean figure space containing
