Motion of generated dumbbell-shaped satellite droplets during liquid dielectrophoresis
Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2021Abstract Actuation of sub-millimeter sized droplets has important implications in heat transfer, microfluidics, and self-cleaning surfaces. Here, we report the motion of satellite droplets generated around a primary droplet actuated using liquid dielectrophoresis (L-DEP).

Shape Recovery by Diffusion Generated Motion
Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 2002Diffusion generated motion has been used to generate a variety of interface motions. In this paper, we present a new shape recovery model with diffusion generated motion. The approach is based on alternately diffusing and sharpening the initial region to move the sharp interface toward the boundaries of the desired objects.

Brownian Motion of a Particle of General Shape in Newtonian Fluid
Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2004Summary: We give a general formulation of handling the Brownian motion of a rigid particle of arbitrary shape in a Newtonian fluid subject to external force, torque and velocity field. We show how to include the effect of the Brownian motion. As an example, we discuss the effect of the translation-rotation coupling on the Brownian motion of free ...

External respiratory motion: Shape analysis and custom realistic respiratory trace generation
Medical Physics, 2012Purpose:The authors developed a realistic respiratory trace generating (RTG) tool for use with phantom and simulation studies. Methods:The authors analyzed the extent of abdominal wall motion from a real‐time position management system database comprised of 125 lung, liver, and abdominal patients to determine the shape and extent of motion. Using Akaike'
