Analysis Of Motion Patterns Generated By Moving Shapes

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
The aim of the experiment described in this paper is to investigate the possibility of describing the motion of a two-dimensional object represented by a sequence of snapshots. The interest of this experiment resides in the fact that the motion patterns we are dealing with are the irregular ones generated when the shape of an object changes the ...

External respiratory motion: Shape analysis and custom realistic respiratory trace generation

Medical Physics, 2012
Purpose:The authors developed a realistic respiratory trace generating (RTG) tool for use with phantom and simulation studies. Methods:The authors analyzed the extent of abdominal wall motion from a real‐time position management system database comprised of 125 lung, liver, and abdominal patients to determine the shape and extent of motion. Using Akaike'

A MCA Motion-Planner for Mobile Robots with Generic Shapes and Kinematics on Variable Terrains

2004
In the present work, we describe a fast Motion-Planner for Mobile Robots. Considering robots moving with smoothed trajectories on variable terrains, we have developed an algorithm based on an anisotropic propagation of attracting potentials on a non-Euclidean manifold.

The derivation of eigenvalues and mode shapes for the bending motion of a damped beam with general end conditions

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1981
The eigenvalues and mode shapes for the bending motion of a beam with restricted classes of end support, and generally undamped, have been derived separately by a number of authors for use in particular applications. A general method is presented here for the derivation of the complex eigenvalues and eigenvectors for a uniform beam governed by the ...

Partial implementation of the fixation method on real images: direct recovery of motion and shape in the general case

Proceedings. 1991 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2002
A direct method called fixation is introduced for solving the general motion vision problem, arbitrary motion relative to an arbitrary rigid scene. This method results in a linear constraint equation which explicitly expresses rotational velocity in terms of translational velocity.
