Weakly electric fish use self-generated motion to discriminate object shape
ABSTRACT Body movements are known to play an active role in sensing. However, it is not fully understood what information is provided by these movements. The Peter’s elephantnose fish, Gnathonemus petersii sense their environment through active electrolocation during which they use ...

ABSTRACT Background Cerebellar ataxia after pediatric brain tumor treatment can cause persistent gait, balance, and speech impairment, yet no established rehabilitation strategy exists. Somato‐cognitive coordination therapy (SCCT) is a virtual reality–guided intervention designed to promote sensorimotor integration through visually constrained reaching

Real-time reactive motion generation based on variable attractor dynamics and shaped velocities [PDF]
This paper describes a novel method for motion generation and reactive collision avoidance. The algorithm performs arbitrary desired velocity profiles in absence of external disturbances and reacts if virtual or physical contact is made in a unified fashion with a clear physically interpretable behavior.

ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Waves Generated by the Horizontal Motions of a Bottom Disturbance
Waves generated by a horizontally moving disturbance on the seabed have been studied by developing two numerical models, namely, the Navier–Stokes and the Green–Naghdi equations.

General Automatic Human Shape and Motion Capture Using Volumetric Contour Cues [PDF]
Markerless motion capture algorithms require a 3D body with properly personalized skeleton dimension and/or body shape and appearance to successfully track a person. Unfortunately, many tracking methods consider model personalization a different problem and use manual or semi-automatic model initialization, which greatly reduces applicability.

Personalized Zebrafish Models for Fusion‐Positive Pediatric Sarcomas
ABSTRACT Clinical sequencing efforts have revolutionized our approaches to categorizing pediatric cancers in real time. This has dramatically improved our ability to profile pediatric tumors, identify actionable vulnerabilities, and influence clinical care.

ABSTRACT Background Germ cell tumors (GCTs) often arise in the ovaries and testes (extracranial) but can also develop in the brain (intracranial). We examined the relationship of individual, family, and community‐level socioeconomic status (SES) with stage of disease at diagnosis in a cohort of pediatric patients with GCT from Children's Oncology Group

Determining Parental Factors for Clinical Trial Attrition in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Despite high enrollment rates on Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocols, attrition after initial consent is challenging, introducing bias and prolonging trial completion. While adult oncology literature has identified predictors of withdrawal, little is known about caregiver decision‐making for child participation in ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...
