A Shape‐Memory Supercapacitor Fiber

Angewandte Chemie, 2015
AbstractA shape‐memory, fiber‐shaped supercapacitor is developed by winding aligned carbon nanotube sheets on a shape‐memory polyurethane substrate. Despite its flexibility and stretchability, the deformed shapes under bending and stretching can be “frozen” as expected and recovered to the original state when required.

Shape as Memory Storage

2005
In a sequence of books, I have developed new foundations to geometry that are directly opposed to the foundations to geometry that have existed from Euclid to modern physics, including Einstein. The central proposal of the new foundations is this: SHAPE ≡ MEMORY STORAGE Let us see how this contrasts with the standard foundations for geometry ...

Multi-shape memory effect in shape memory polymer composites

Materials Letters, 2012
In this work, the multi shape memory effect is studied for two types of thermal active epoxy polymer composites. One of them is called the controlled behavior of composite material (CBCM) which has already been tested as an unsymmetrical active composite and the other one is the conventional symmetrical composite.

Mechanical and shape memory behavior of composites with shape memory polymer

Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing, 2004
Abstract Shape memory polymers (SMPs) are playing a prominent role for biomedical, self-repairing and smart materials. Among various SMPs, shape memory polyurethanes (PUs) are receiving much attention for their easy control of glass transition temperature (Tg) around the room temperature and excellent shape memory effect even at the room temperature.

Phenomenology of Shape Memory Alloys

2015
The strong demand for high performance structural and mechanical systems for aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing industries has promoted the evolution of advanced materials. Materials cannot respond to changes of the surrounding environment and are not able to operate under the service conditions for which they are not optimally designed ...

Shape change/memory actuators based on shape memory materials

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2017
Major techniques currently available to implement typical shape memory materials (such as shape memory alloys and polymers) for three basic types of shape switching actuations—one-time shape memory actuation, cyclic shape memory actuation and cyclic shape change actuation—were explored in detail.

Shape detection with limited memory

Pattern Recognition, 1991
Abstract A new approach to shape detection through the generalized Hough transform is introduced. The method is based on a limited memory implementation of the transform, that reduces its cost and makes it suitable for hardware implementation.

Shape Memory Alloys and Collisions

2016
We consider a solid, for instance a car, colliding a shape memory alloy solid, for instance a guard-rail. We address this problem assuming the collision is instantaneous. For a given percussion, the velocity of the shape memory alloy solid are predicted by the theory in agreement with the physical sense.
